The Dell PowerEdge FC640 has high-performance processors, substantial memory capacity, and scalable I/O capabilities, rendering it suitable for various applications such as virtualisation, server consolidation, scale-out workloads, and private or hybrid cloud environments.

Robust Dual-Socket Modular Architecture Server
The FC640 has a versatile two-socket half-height/width computation sled, capable of accommodating up to two 28-core Intel® 2nd generation Xeon® Scalable processors. It accommodates up to 2TB of DDR4 memory, rendering it an optimal selection for dense virtualisation systems, software-defined storage (SDS), databases, high-performance computing (HPC), big data analytics, and private cloud applications. The FC640 accommodates two 2.5-inch drives, with an option for NVMe PCIe SSDs to fulfil high-performance direct-attached storage needs. The FX2 chassis accommodates a maximum of four FC640 servers, and the SDS environment is compatible with VMware vSAN using the HBA330 controller.

The Dell EMC OpenManage systems management portfolio improves server efficiency by intelligent, automated handling of standard IT chores. The FC640, equipped with the agent-free management features of the embedded iDRAC9 with Lifecycle Controller, allows for effortless management, hence allocating more time for high-priority initiatives.
